Welcome to the Chanhassen Minnesota BSA Troops 3330 and 5330!
Troop 3330 was founded in 1947 and we have approximately 35-45 boys in our Troop at any given time.
Troop 5330 was founded in 2019 as the first BSA Troop for Girls in District M.
We are a scout run operation and pride ourselves on the accomplishments of our young men and women over the years. Our scouts are governed by rules and regulations that follow the Scout Oath and Law. Our Patrol Leaders Council sets policy and develops our monthly agenda. Heavy emphasis is placed on Leadership, Character Development, and Personal Responsibility. These are just some of the keys to our success. Strong mentorship from trained and experienced Adult Leaders creates an atmosphere of learning and safety. Solid support from parents helps us move forward in a positive direction. Scouts learning from fellow Scouts is paramount.
We are an active organization with weekly meetings and camping adventures almost every month. Over the past few years our travels have taken us to places such as: Northern Tier in Minnesota, Philmont in New Mexico, Sea Base in the Florida Keys, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Idaho, Utah, Texas, Virginia and Canada as a troop, as individual Scouts or together as a High Adventure Patrol. We do much of our weekend camping at regional, county, state and national parks around the area and at Scout Camps.
Both troops meets Tuesday evening in Chanhassen Minnesota from 7:00 to 8:30 PM during the school year from September to June. Our locations change based on the activities planned for the evening. Troop 330 attends Summer Camp and older scouts take on activities like long distance hikes through Badlands National Park or other scenic routes. We participate in the Chanhassen 4th of July Parade, Memorial Day Ceremony, Veterans Day Ceremony and provide service to our community through various local charities, churches, organizations and our Chartering Organization, The American Legion.
At Troop 330, we provide the means for earning all the Merit Badges and Advancement that is required of a Scout from Tenderfoot to Eagle and beyond! We strive to emphasize comprehension over quantity and self sufficiency over just another patch – while we have fun and build fond memories. It is not a race… Scouting is all about learning skills that will be useful lifelong. Whether a Scout ends up earning the rank of Eagle Scout by age 18 or a Scout manages to earn First Class on his or her own time, the scout has gained valuable skills that he not only can use for himself but he may very well pass on his knowledge to future generations. Both accomplishments are priceless.
