July 31 2023 - Northern Tier - 10 Day Trek + 2 Day Travel

Canoe, camp, portage, swim and fish at the Northern Tier high adventure.   We have two crews going.   We’ll spend ten full days out in the wilderness with one day of travel on each end.   Scouts attending should practice their swimming, do a bunch of hiking to get in shape and plan on having a great adventure.

August 27th Family Picnic and Annual Planning

Invite a friend to join the fun of scouting, both boys and girls. For every new scout, the existing scout gets a recruiter patch. The new and existing scout both get a nifty pocket knife.

Bring the family and some friends for some fun, some games, some ideas for the troop calendar and some grilled food. Bring your calendar and be ready to sign up for events.

Parents this is your chance to get all your questions answered.

Submarine Overnight - October 19

We stay overnight in the submarine at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Signup deadline is August 27th.   The group will decide on other activities — tour the ball field? visit the Houdini exhibit? stop to see the railroad?

Outside Merit Badge Opportunities!

Numerous groups sponsor merit badge opportunities where scouts to work on and often complete unique merit badges. It is the scouts’ responsibility to “be prepared” by reading the merit badge booklet (check it out from the troop library or purchase a copy at a scout shop). You can also work through the workbook.   Scouts sign up and arrange their own transportation.  Unless otherwise noted by the sponsor group, scouts are expected to be in full uniform. It is often more fun to bring a buddy from the troop but is usually not required.

Scoutmaster Bucky holds large in person and on-line session almost every month.  The in person session are usually held at various locations around the metro area.  He also hosts sessions at a business, a college or a university or even a museum in order to work on the highly unusual merit badges. These sessions are very popular so check often and sign up early.
